The Centre for Spartan and Peloponnesian Studies (CSPS) has an international reputation as the world’s only research centre focused on the study of Sparta and the Peloponnese, Greece. It was founded by Professors William Cavanagh (Archaeology) and Stephen Hodkinson (Classics) in 2005. Its official inauguration took place in 2006, through public launches both in the United Kingdom and Greece
